Prophet: A tale of seeing through Time and the curse of Cassandra.
Days of the FuturePast.

I can see the end, in the beginning of everything.
— Janie, Ethel Cain.
Today:
I see the ends
before I weave the beginnings
of all the times I’ve been ruined.
Belief and trust,
Daggers in my back
from the ones that I loved,
from the ones I cracked.
So this body shall disappear
for the first sight of any trail of blood,
I’ll handle hunger better,
When I am in drought, not it loss.
I used to move in to the future, bring it all back
Let it bleed through my fingers, a treasure in my hands
Now I creep out when there’s no one about
‘Cause the put crosses on the doors to try and keep me out.
—Cassandra, Florence + The Machine
Tomorrow:
I am the knife that is in my chest, right in the middle.
I’ll die no sooner than when I gather the courage to bring it out.
through Futures I wore the past,
Tried to understand it backwards
Maybe I’d have a chance
to play god over the hands of the gods who have watched me.
but this blood got heavy because I refused to bleed the poison I was feeding: The Dreaming of Changing.
Changing it all.
The Fire didn’t want to burn, it was awaiting my cleansing.
but I burnt anyway, to change its course, its way out of me.
I Grapple with Time about the timing of the learnings,
I refuse to feel until I bleed.
I am Apollo, I am Cassandra, I am the people who didn’t believe also.
I prophesy. I don't believe.
Time grows inward in me.
If only I knew who has cursed me worse than me.
Oh, Drunken Gods of Slaughter
You know I’ve always been you favorite daughter.
—Cassandra, Florence + The Machine
Yesterday:
The prophecy only becomes true,
Once I forget that I’ve seen it through.
Once Tomorrow flees from my mind,
will today finally come.
I’ll know of the ache
In a moment of hesitation
What if this time I’ll learn
to let time come to me instead
What if I won’t believe
Just as a souvenir
Maybe forgetting is not enough
Time holds it too dear
and what is forgot might have been foreseen
but is for sure
forsaken.
and I need the curse,
and its limbs taken
so tomorrow is only for today
and yesterdays are presents
Time brings it from day to day
here’s the prophecy:
“I Become the Curser who has cursed me before.
and forgotten, I will not believe in it anymore
I will let go
I will lose it all
Time will take me forward just as it grows inward
I’ll learn to let go
I learn to let the beast live
and disappear
spend a little time with in the company on Time
So I shall come to know this
on its own time
and I’ll learn it
so I will never forsake it again.”
Everything I thought I knew has fallen out of view
In this blindness I’m condemned to
And if I run fast enough, Could I break apart
As Empires crumble and cathedrals flatten in my heart?
